This month-long introductory course is for young paddlers who are new to sprint paddling and want to learn the basics in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. No previous paddling experience is required.
Athletes will be introduced to basic paddling skills, balance, boat control, teamwork, and confidence on the water. Paddlers will also get the chance to try a variety of boats and boards, including sprint kayaks/canoes, outrigger canoes, and stand up paddle boards.
This course is focused on introducing the sport, building comfort on the water, and helping young athletes decide if they would like to continue with future paddling programs.
