Join FGPC Expeditions for an unforgettable week of racing, training, travel, and cultural exploration in one of Southeast Asia's most exciting destinations.

The Penang International Dragon Boat Regatta is one of Asia's longest-running international dragon boat festivals, attracting crews from throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Racing takes place at the spectacular Straits Quay Marina waterfront in Penang, Malaysia.

FGPC is assembling both Mixed and Women's teams to compete at the event. Team selection is intended to create competitive crews capable of representing the club at an international level while enjoying the unique experience of travelling and racing together overseas.

Whether your goal is international competition, warm-weather racing, cultural exploration, or simply sharing an incredible experience with teammates, Penang offers a rare opportunity to combine all four.

What's Included

The FGPC Team Package includes:

• Seven nights accommodation (double occupancy)
• Organized team training program
• Team coaching and management
• Race entry fees
• Participant accreditation fees

• Shared contribution toward coach travel expenses

Package Cost

$1,200 CAD

Not included in cost: Airfare, airport transfers, meals (other than included functions), travel insurance, and personal expenses.

Estimated airfare from Victoria/Vancouver is currently approximately $1,500–$2,000 CAD.

Application Fee

$50 CAD (non-refundable)

The application fee covers administration and assessment costs associated with the selection process.

Applicants who are accepted onto the team will have the $50 application fee credited toward their team package cost.

All Applicants

Applicants will receive an invitation to join the expedition team.

Upon acceptance:

• First Payment: $500 CAD due by 12 September 2026
• Final Payment: $650 CAD due by 10 October 2026

Total Cost for Successful Applicants

$1,200 CAD

Payment schedules and deadlines will be provided upon acceptance.

Refund Policy

All payments are subject to FGPC registration, cancellation, and refund policies.

• Refund (except non-refundable deposit) less 15% admin fee
• Account credit with no extra charge
