Sunday 14 March 2027 – V1 / OC1

THE COURSE

V1 and OC1 races (Sunday 14 March) are held on the same 500m course as a straight-shot 500m lane race with advancements. Evenly spaced buoy markers near the Bay Street Bridge (start line) and FGPC’s docks (finish line) frame the straight shot race course (no buoy turns). Each race will consists of three boats in three lanes. Note: V1 and OC1 boats are supplied (Fai V1s and Ares and/or Draco OC1s). Note that athletes must race in boats supplied by FGPC in order to ensure fair racing.

ATHLETE INFORMATION

• Solo divisions will race in male and female gender divisions, with seeded heats followed by semi finals for each gender.
• The fastest six semi-finalist solo paddlers in each boat class and gender division will advance to the final heats at the end of the day, regardless of age.
• In the event that solo age category entrants meet or exceed 3 athletes in a division and boat class (e.g. V1 or OC1), finalists will race their final races within their age division and boat class.
• Athletes must choose a boat class (V1 or OC1), but can opt to race in both boat classes if they wish, with the understanding they may race back-to-back races.
• Small boat racers are guaranteed 2 X 500m heats (seeded plus semi) in their boat class (V1 or OC1) with potential for a third race over the Sunday small boat races in the event they advance to the finals.

Location: Fairway Gorge Paddling Club, 2940 Jutland Road, Victoria BC.

Race Schedule:Race start at 9:00am, check-in open at 8:00am, steers meeting at 8:30am.

Teams will be registered on a first come, first served basis
Please complete and submit the registration below and submit payment no later than 5 March 2027.
If registration fills before 5 March 2027 your crew will be waitlisted.

Please note: Individual Electronic Waivers must be on file for each paddler, along with CORA 2027 paddler memberships.

In addition to completing this registration agreement, the Team Captain/Manager must ensure that all paddlers have completed an online individual FGPC waiver for the current season and renew their CORA memberships.

Event Cancellation/Refund Policy

There will be 25% administrative fee for all withdrawals. The final date to withdraw a team from the event is 20 February 2027. There will be no refunds of any type after this date, including if the event is cancelled due to safety reasons.
