Looking to warm up this winter? FGPC is bringing the heat with some small boat competition. The FGPC Small Boat Race Series is open to all paddlers of any level who want to challenge themselves. Series points will be awarded by placement (example: if you finish 3rd out of 10 you will receive 8 points for that race) in addition to 10 points for participation in each race. Races will alternate between sprint and distance events.

  • FGPC to Tillicum and back
• Saturday, November 29 @ 1:30pm - 5km
  • FGPC to Bay, Tillicum, Bay, FGPC
• Saturday, December 20 @ 1:30pm - 7km
  • FGPC to V23 and back
• Saturday, January 31 @ 1:30pm - 9km relay format
  • 6 x 1.5km loops - FGPC, Halkett, Bay, FGPC
• Saturday, February 28 @ 1:30pm - 9km
  • FGPC to V21 and back
• Saturday, March 28 @ 1:30pm - 11.5km
  • FGPC to V21, Brotchie, V21 and back

• Race Format: Small boat race
• Boats: Unless specified, any private or club small boat is permitted
• Location: FGPC docks
• Cost: $15 per paddler per race; advance online registration only (no same-day race sign-ups permitted); full series can be purchased for $75
• Prizes for overall winners (top three men overall; top three women overall; top relay team overall)
• Coffee & selection of baked goods included at each race
• Registration deadline is 72 hours before the race
• Point System:
  • Points will be given by placement
  • First place in each category (minimum 3 boats) will get 15 points and the following places will get 1 point less per placement
