The Vancouver Island Dragon Boat Festival combines the best that Vancouver Island’s dragon boat community has to offer – the best race venue, the island’s most-experienced race management team, and the safest fleet of dragon boats.

The 2026 VIDBF will entertain, challenge and delight local, regional and visiting teams across competitive and recreational divisions with a number of paddler-centered innovations, including

• A new “pentathlon” format: a cumulative weekend of racing: 500m, 200m, 100m, our famous flag relay, and a show-stopper guts and glory followed by a final 500 for the top 3 finishing women’s and mixed teams.
• Enhanced festival amenities including a vendors' and a paddlers’ village, paddles and PFDs for athletes without personal equipment, in addition to Canadian Springs water on tap and plenty of parking and washroom facilities

Fee are as follows:

Early Bird (until April 15, 2026) is $1600 including GST
Regular (after April 15, 2026) is $1800 including GST

FGPC Staff Sterns and Drummers will be available (+$150 per staff person for 2 days).

FGPC can supply your team a single 10 x 10 tent at the cost of $100 including GST. Note: each team is allotted the space for one 10 x 10 tent only.

You may request these closer to the event date and pay separately.

Please register early to avoid disappointment. Crew registration payment must be made before registration in this event is confirmed.

Festival Cancellation/Refund Policy

There will be 25% administrative fee for all withdrawals. The final date to withdraw a team from the festival is July 1, 2026 (three weeks from the event). There will be no refunds of any type after this date, including if the festival is cancelled due to safety reasons.
